Azerbaijan MFA: Armenia has deliberately planted mines in Kalbajar during the forced withdrawal phase

"The Azerbaijani side constantly raises the issue of deliberate and large-scale planting landmines in the territories of Azerbaijan in gross violation of the international humanitarian law of Armenia, including the Geneva Conventions of 1949," it was reflected in the information released by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on the death of journalists in a landmine explosion in Kalbajar, APA reports.

"This incident in Kalbajar once again shows that the mines in this area were deliberately planted by Armenia during the forced withdrawal of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces after the counter-offensive operations. The aim is to do as much damage as possible to the Azerbaijani side and create additional obstacles for the civilian population to return home," says the statement.
