“Exactly a year ago, on September 27, as a response to the next military provocation of Armenia, with the order of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Azerbaijani Army put an end to the occupation with counter-attack operation. 44-day Patriotic War ended with a victory, our lands which were under occupation for 30 years, were liberated,” said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the joint press conference with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu within the framework of the meeting of Turkish Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, APA reports.
“Taking the opportunity I would like to express my gratitude to all the states that supported Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War, demonstrating its support to Azerbaijan’s righteous word. I should especially note Turkey’s role too. From the first day of the Patriotic War, especially Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Grand National Assembly, deputies, political parties, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, personally Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Turkish people stood fully and openly with the Azerbaijani people, the Azerbaijani state. This political and moral support gave us power, became a symbol of brotherhood,” stressed Azerbaijani FM.
J. Bayramov has also highly appreciated the support of the Turkish Council during the Patriotic War.
