On June 14, 2021, the foreign minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov has held a phone conversation with the UK Minister of State for the European Neighborhood and the Americas Wendy Morton, APA reports citing the information of the Azerbaijani MFA.
According to the information, the parties have exchanged their views on the implementation of the trilateral statement.
Wendy Morton has expressed her gratitude regarding the extradition of 15 detained Armenians by the Azerbaijani side in exchange for Armenia's provision of landmine maps on the Aghdam region on June 12. The minister of state has positively evaluated this step in terms of reducing tensions and building trust between the parties. W. Morton has also expressed her regret regarding the death of Azerbaijani journalists and a civilian in the landmine explosion in recent days and extended her condolences.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has gratefully noted the support from the United Kingdom through the UN Development Program and cooperation with ANAMA in this regard.
The parties have also discussed the cooperation issues in the renewable energy field and gratefully noted the memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Azerbaijan Republic and BP company in this regard.
During the phone conversations, other issues of mutual interest have been also discussed.
