"We informed my Kazakhstan counterpart on the post-conflict period," said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov at the briefing after meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan today, APA reports.
Minister noted that some articles of trilateral statements regarding Karabakh are implemented, while execution of some of articles delays: "I informed my Kazakhstan counterpart on the necessity of return of hundreds of thousand of internally-displaced persons to their native territories. We have also conducted a discussion on the potential cooperation in this direction."
Foreign Minister stressed that he also informed Mukhtar Tileuberdi of the mine threat: “28 people were killed, 120 people were injured in a landmine explosion after signing trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020. Armenia’s refusal from providing landmine maps aggravates the situation further. Armenia provided maps of landmines on Aghdam with the participation of international mediators a while ago. Number of mines in just one district is 97,000. It once again shows the level of mine threat.”
Jeyhun Bayramov reminded that a new trilateral statement was signed on January 11, 2021: “The statement signed among Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia, is related to restoration of communication relations, economic relations. Non-implementation of the agreement has also been impacted by the deep crisis in Armenia.”
