Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation headed by Chief Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kenya on the sidelines of the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku, the Ministry told APA.
Greeting the guest, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressed the importance of expanding the legal framework between the two countries and a high-level mutual exchange of visits.
In his turn, the Kenyan diplomat congratulated Azerbaijan for its Chairmanship to the NAM and underlined that during the Azerbaijani Chairmanship Kenya will support the efforts of Azerbaijan.
Giving brief information to the Kenyan diplomat about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov emphasized the importance of respecting the basic principles of international law by all member states, adding that the relevant UN Security Council resolutions adopted with regard to the settlement of the conflict have not been implemented.
At the meeting, the sides also discussed the perspectives of the bilateral relations, as well as the cooperation issues within the international organizations.
