Opening Ceremony of XVIII Baku Summit of heads of members states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement is held, APA reports.

The Opening Ceremony is attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Heads of more than 60 states and governments, representatives of international organizations, and representatives of countries and organizations, invited as a special guest take part in the XVIII Summit, held on “Upholding the Bandung principles to ensure a coherent and adequate response to the challenges of the modern world”.

I Summit of the Non-Alignment Movement held in Baku has a great symbolic meaning. The Azerbaijan Republic thoroughly contributes to the promotion of the purpose and intentions of the Non-Alignment Movement, as well as strengthening international peace, security, and cooperation by chairing the event in 2019-2022.

The adoption of 4 final documents is expected in the XVIII Baku Summit of the heads of member states and governments of Non-Aligned Movement.
