“We will proudly handover the chairmanship of Non-Alignment Movement to Azerbaijan on October of this year. XVIII summit of this organization that supports the sovereignty of states in the international level for 58 years will be held on October in Baku”, said Deputy Foreign Minister of Venezuela Ruben Dario Molina in his interview to APA.

Deputy Minister stated that the statement of Venezuela against the interference in the domestic affairs of the country was presented to 120 member states on July of this year at the Meeting of Non-Alignment Movement held in Caracas: “Venezuela once again stated that it is against unilateral mandatory sanctions, intimidation against sovereign states and use of military power. Political situation was critical in the international sphere when Venezuela accepted chairmanship of the organization. Venezuela took the chairmanship in the time of violation of international law and application of unilateral mandatory sanctions. We are sure that Azerbaijani government will continue the track of defending the UN Charter and international law”.

Mr Molina stressed that Venezuela expresses its support on Azerbaijan’s chairmanship in Non-Aligned Movement: “ We are always in contact with Azerbaijan side and we are ready to share experience that we have achieved during three years. I have no doubt that Azerbaijan will achieve great success during chairmanship. Because Azerbaijan is a friend of several countries, especially the member countries of Non-Aligned Movement. In this stage, we will provide the help that depends on us to Azerbaijan side. Non-Aligned Movement is an important organization in the world level. The member countries of the organization are important countries as well. I note again that we are ready to provide any support.”

He also stated that the attendance of the President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro at the summit to be held in Baku is envisaged.
