“Azerbaijan has today become the main player of international energy security,” said Deputy PM of Kazakhstan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tleburdi at the briefing held after meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, APA reports.
He noted that Kazakhstan is glad for the development of Azerbaijan through modernization.
Stressing their cooperation with Azerbaijan in a multilateral format within the framework of the UN, OSCE, CIS, Turkic Council, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, M. Tleburdi said that Azerbaijan is the main trade partner of Kazakhstan in the Caucasus and Caspian region: "Unfortunately, against the background of pandemic and quarantine restrictions, our trade turnover decreased by 38% in 2020 to $ 142 million. We are ready to work to increase trade turnover, as well as to restore air links between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the short term and the mutual recognition of COVID-19 passports."
