“This issue was discussed a lot at the meetings we held. Azerbaijani people, naturally, want to find answer to this question, that why our neighbour, a country which has a common history, culture with us, behaves us in such way?” said Director of the Turkey’s Center for Iranian Studies Haggi Uyghur on Iran's transportation of cargos to the territories controlled by Russian peacekeepers without the permission of Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Commenting on holding exercises by Iran on the border with Azerbaijan, H. Uygur said that one of the purposes in the visit to Azerbaijan is to lend clarity namely to these issues: “It should be clarified and asked by Iranian officials. You know, sometimes contacts through media may cause some misunderstandings. Much information against us is disseminated in Iranian media. There are groups in Iran that are concerned with the Turkish-Azerbaijani partnership. The exercises in Azerbaijan with the participation of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan have caused protests in some circles in Iran. However, these exercises are not against Iran. Unfortunately, there are some circles in Iran which attitude towards it very sensitively. All of these have been discussed. We know that Iran is a strong state, it was not the right time for these exercises. But of course, Iran is a free and sovereign country. There is no need to worry about holding training anywhere in the country at any time.”
