"Serious processes have occurred in the world After Venezuelan Summit of Non-Aligned Movement” the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Gurbangulu Berdimuhamedov said at the XVIII Summit of heads of members states and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement which is held in Baku.
He said that the member countries of NAM are going towards the main goals by unifying their efforts and try to protect peace in global level: “Actually, this should form our intention, basis of steps we take. We should closely participate in the adoption of global decisions. Turkmenistan believes that we have enough ability to eliminate current difficulties and problems. The role of the NAM in this regard is special. The steps were taken by us, the decisions we make do not lose its urgency today. Our activity should be based on a policy that has specific content.”
G. Berdimuhammadow noted that Turkmenistan fully accepts UN general Assembly’s decisions: "Turkmenistan supports the implementation of the UN's global anti-terrorism policy in the international arena at the same time. This activity must be carried out all over the world. Some of the Non-Aligned Movement member countries are directly suffered by the terror. Another global threat is the refugee crisis. Indeed, appropriate solutions to the refugee crisis must be presented and we have to urge the international community to be more active in this matter. Turkmenistan has granted citizenship to more than 20,000 refugees and stateless people during recent years."
Turkmenistan Head of State said that efforts must be made to utilize the rich natural resources of the Caspian Sea rationally.
