On September 24, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry told APA.
The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the ICRC and expressed hope for further development of successful cooperation between the parties.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the other side on the situation in the region after the conflict, in particular, the threat of landmines and their consequences, the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated areas. The Minister noted that in the context of the conflict, the ICRC's activities were positively assessed by Azerbaijan.
In turn, ICRC President Peter Maurer thanked for the information and informed about the work done by his organization in this direction. He stressed that relevant projects in the context of humanitarian cooperation and conflict resolution will be continued.
The sides also exchanged views on general humanitarian activities.
