"We have conducted bilateral consultations on the basis of five-sided negotiations with the Russian Federation on the Caspian Sea in Moskow”, Khalaf Khalafov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for border and the Caspian Sea issues, told APA.
Mr. Khalafov stated that they discussed issues on the agenda of next meeting of the High-Level Working Group of the Caspian Sea with Igor Bratchikov, Russian president's special representative on delimitation and demarcation of borders with CIS countries, Ambassador at Large of the Russian Foreign Ministryş
“We have held an exchange of views, and carried out monitoring observing the general scene. Agreements were reached on many points of the draft agreement on the method of determining direct exits in the Caspian Sea, many points remained open. We have exchanged views on the remaining points. We have made every effort to strengthen the common platform that serves the achievement of the agreement so that we can bring positions closer," Deputy FM said.
Note that on July 4, bilateral consultations on the Caspian Sea issues were held in Moscow between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
