Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met Joseph Malanji, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia on the sidelines of the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement held in Baku, APA reports citing the MFA.
At the meeting, the prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in both political as well as cultural and humanitarian fields were noted. In this respect, the importance of expanding the legal framework as well as establishing a visa-free regime between the two countries for the purposes of deepening cooperation in the fields of tourism and education was stressed.
Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stressed the importance of benefiting from the perspectives not only on the bilateral level but also within the international platforms such as the UN and NAM.
Foreign Minister Joseph Malanji underlined the significance of high-level reciprocal visits between the countries. He presented the letter of the President of Zambia addressed to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Joseph Malanji expressed his assurances for the successful Presidency of Azerbaijan in NAM and wrote his heartfelt words in the Memorial Book dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchanged views on the other issues of mutual interest.
