“Azerbaijan is an important stable and valued energy partner for Israel,” said Israeli Minister of Tourism Yoel Razvozov during his speech at the opening of the Trade Representative of Azerbaijan in Tel Aviv, APA reports.
“Over the last three decades of diplomatic relations we, Azerbaijan and Israel made many achievements but there is no doubt the opening of the Azerbaijani Commercial Office in Israel is a historic milestone. A milestone on the route to yet another achievement: the opening of the Azerbaijani embassy in Israel hopefully in the near future. I would like to take this opportunity and thank Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for making this important decision and strengthening our relations. I also want to express my gratitude to Azerbaijani Energy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov for supporting this special relationship between two countries,” Israeli Minister of Tourism.
He noted that the relationship between two countries extends over many areas: “Israeli companies have participated in building routes and agricultural projects, cooperated in medicine, communication and more. Needless to say, Azerbaijan is an important stable and valued energy partner for Israel. I am delighted to share that in terms of trade, the figures are constantly improving. In 2020, mutual civil trade between our countries reached about 200 million dollars. I am even more delighted to share that Israelis see Azerbaijan as a fascinating and attractive tourist destination. Five years ago only a few thousand Israelis visited Azerbaijan and in 2019 just before the pandemic, 50 thousand Israelis visited Azerbaijan. This is a good number. As a Minister of Tourism of Israel, I would like to take the opportunity to invite Azerbaijanis to visit Israel to see our wonderful country. We look forward to welcoming you with open arms."
"We share many fields of mutual interest expanding cooperation in energy, water supplies, agriculture, medicine, education and mutual investment. There are endless opportunities for cooperation between Israel and Azerbaijan and I am confident we, together will do our best to bring this opportunity to fruition,” the minister noted.
