"While in Zangilan today, of course, it would not be right if we did not talk about the Zangazur corridor," said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in a statement to the press after meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Zangilan region, APA reports.

The President of Azerbaijan said that Zangilan is located in the Eastern Zangazur region: “The Zangazur corridor passing through here will unite the whole Turkic world. Both Azerbaijan and Turkey are taking practical steps to implement the Zangazur corridor. I am confident that these steps will bear fruit in the near future. Today, my dear brother and my guests laid the foundation of a major highway. This highway is also part of the Zangazur corridor. As a result of the construction of this highway and railway, we will achieve our goal. I would like to take this opportunity to thank many Turkish companies operating in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan today. As a result of their tireless efforts, roads, railways, tunnels and infrastructure projects are being built in the region today. This is once again the embodiment of our unity and brotherhood. I am confident that Turkey and Azerbaijan will continue to move forward as two brotherly countries, our peoples will be closer to each other, and our countries will continue to cooperate successfully. Thus, the joint strength of Turkey and Azerbaijan will be even more effective.
