Russian Delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) has not participated in voting during the adoption of a report entitled “Humanitarian consequences of conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan), said Deputy Director of Press and Information Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Alexey Zaytsev at the briefing today, APA’s correspondent in Moscow reports.

According to him, the Russian delegation has received appeals from Azerbaijan and Armenia during discussion of the known document at PACE.

“Taking into account Russia's role as a mediator, our delegation to PACE did not take part in the voting on the document. We have repeatedly stated that a sustainable and long-term solution to the problem of incidents at various points on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border is the establishment of a commission on the delimitation of the state border between the two countries. Russia has submitted proposals to Baku and Yerevan to start the negotiation process. We are waiting for the reaction of our partners,” the official of MFA noted.
