“Russia supports delimitation and demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the early start of this work,” said Alexander Bikantov, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry at today’s briefing while commenting on the proposal by Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan regarding the deployment of Russian peacekeepers along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

"Altogether, border posts establishment is the responsibility of the Russian Federal Security Service. But in our turn, we can say that Russia pays great attention to this issue and makes active mediation efforts to resolve the border dispute. One of the problems with the deployment of border guards along the border is the lack of international legal formation of borders. We believe that sustainable de-escalation of the border can be ensured only by the process of delimitation and demarcation of the borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan without delay. Russia is in favor of starting this process soon," said Russian diplomat.
