"Organizing the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders requires serious preparation", said Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Zaitsev at the briefing held today while commenting on the statement of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on readiness to the meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

“Russia believes that regular dialogue at the highest and supreme levels in solving problematic issues always helps mutual understanding and a constructive atmosphere. Namely, thanks to the intensive contacts of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, the bloodshed in Karabakh was stopped and a trilateral statement was signed. You understand that organizing such high-level meetings requires serious preparation. The visit of the Minsk Group co-chairs to the region will help create favourable conditions for this meeting,” the official of Russian MFA noted.
