Salome Zurabishvili: “Azerbaijani and Georgian nations are bound by close friendship relations”

“Although Georgians and Azerbaijanis belong to different religions, we are bound by close friendship relations”, said Georgian President, Salome Zurabishvili in her letter, sent on the occasion of 70th birthday of Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh and 40th anniversary of his activity, APA's Georgian bureau reports.

S. Zurabishvili noted in her letter that Allahshukur Pashazadeh and Georgian Patriarch Ilia II contribute to strengthening peace in the Caucasus.

“I always see personal roles of Georgian Patriarch and you in strengthening friendship relations between two countries. I believe this friendship will always be strong, we will maintain it, and strengthen peace and flourishing, which are very significant in the region”, noted S. Zurabishvili.
