At the initiative of a number of members of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies, a congratulatory statement was adopted to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of October 18 - Independence Day, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico told APA.
"This year the brotherly country of Azerbaijan marks the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the independence," the statement reads.
During this period, Azerbaijan has successfully developed and established itself as a strong and progressive state in the international arena, as well as increasing its diplomatic presence in the Latin American region and establishing friendly and cooperative relations with countries in the region, including Mexico.
The document states that Azerbaijan is currently focusing its efforts on the reconstruction of the liberated territories to ensure the dignified and safe return of IDPs to their homes, as well as on ensuring lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus region.
At the end, congratulations are expressed to the people of Azerbaijan on the 30th anniversary of the restoration of independence, as well as condolences to their compatriots who died for the territorial integrity of their homeland.
