Afghan deputy FM says relations with Azerbaijan at highest level

Relations between Afghanistan and Azerbaijan are at the highest level, Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Nasir Ahmad Andisha told APA on Saturday.

The Afghan diplomat is on a visit to Baku to attend the 2018 CAMCA Regional Forum.

Calling Azerbaijan an important partner of Afghanistan, the deputy FM stressed the importance of the 7th Ministerial Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process (HoA) held in Baku last year.

He added that at least one delegation from Afghanistan visit Azerbaijan every month.

“Issues of cooperation between the two countries in connection with economic corridors are discussed. These corridors pass through Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia and Turkmenistan. These corridors are alternative routes for trade cooperation,” the Afghan diplomat said.

Ahmad Andisha also emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service.

The diplomat said he hopes Azerbaijan will soon open an embassy in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

“We hope Azerbaijan will soon open an embassy in Kabul, after which bilateral relations will further expand,” he added.
