Azerbaijani FM: “Azerbaijani-Czech relations are at level of strategic partnership”

“Azerbaijan highly appreciates relations with Czech,”said Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov at the joint press conference held with his Czech counterpart, APA reports.

According to the Minister, discussions on relations between the countries, cooperation at an international platform, and discussions on the development of this cooperation have been held: “Relations between the two countries are at the level of strategic partnership.”

The head of the MFA touched upon the importance of cooperation in the economic field between Azerbaijan and Czech Republic. The minister added that the importance of the activity of the Commission on economic cooperation has also been stressed at the meeting with his Czech counterpart: “Azerbaijan is one of the main partners of Czech Republic in the energy field. There are cooperation opportunities in other fields, IT, alternative energy, transit, tourism field. The Alat Free Economic Zone has attracted the attention of the Czech Minister. Restoration of the liberated territories from the occupation has also been discussed. We consider that cooperation potential in this field is great. The Czech Republic will chair the European Council in 2022 which will create new opportunities for our relations.”
