Leyla Abdullayeva, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan has commented on the statements of the Armenian MFA regarding the incident that occurred near Shusha in November 8, APA reports.

It is noted in the statement that Armenian MFA has no political, legal, and moral basis to make any statements regarding the Azerbaijani territories: "When it comes to the mentioned incident that this is as a result of the next provocation of the Armenian side. Thus, it is noted in the statement issued by the Armenian side that allegedly, these individuals have operated near the Khankendi-Shusha road in order to repair the water line on November 8. We would like to mention that the Russian peacekeepers are usually informed before implementing any activity in this territory and this activity is implemented accompanied by the peacekeepers. But this time, no information has been given to the Russian peacekeepers and they were not involved in the process. This, of course, raises serious questions".

Also, on this date, an event was held in Shusha with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and state officials, and it is known that in such cases, enhanced security measures are taken in the area. Knowing this, it makes no sense to repair any water line in the area close to the area.

At the same time, the illegal visit of the Armenian defense minister to the Karabakh region is the next provocation of the opposite side.

All of these show that the Armenian side purposefully aims to aggravate the situation. Taking these steps on the eve of the first anniversary of the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020 serves the purpose to overshadow the activities of the Russian peacekeepers and this is generally a violation of the trilateral statement".
