“The situation in the South Caucasus has changed. The occupation decreased Armenia’s economic potential, independence. Migration from the country is also a result of this,” said Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the panel South Caucasus: Prospects for Regional Development and Cooperation held within the framework of World after COVID-19, Global Baku Forum, APA reports.

H. Hajiyev said that if Armenia puts an end to territorial claims to neighboring countries, it will eventually lead to Armenia's development: “Armenia should put an end to territorial claims to Turkey and Azerbaijan. If Armenia changes its strategic vision, it will be to Armenia's advantage. South Caucasus is a small market and Armenia should establish normal relations with neighbors in order to use its potential. “

H. Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan expects a response from Armenia on the peace agreement: “4 thousand Azerbaijanis went missing in the First Karabakh war. Azerbaijan waits for response from Armenia regarding the fate of these people.”
