International Justice Court to adopt decision against Armenia on Azerbaijan’s claim

“Currently, a lawsuit has been filed by Azerbaijan against the state of Armenia in the two international instances, said the head of the press service of Azerbaijani MFA Leyla Abdullayeva, APA reports.

She noted that the first claim is in European Court on Human Rights and Azerbaijan filed this lawsuit against Armenia in January 2021: “It is about gross violation of International Convention on the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, in 1950, by Armenia.

The second international instance is the International Court of Justice. It is about Armenia's violation of the “1965 International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination” against Azerbaijan. We can mention 3 main urgent issues raised by Azerbaijan. The first is the issue of landmines, which the Armenian side is obstructing the return of Azerbaijani IDPs by deliberately failing to provide mine maps. As a result of mine explosion, many people die and injure. The second issue is the preservation of the available evidence of war crimes committed by the Armenian army. The third is the fact that revanchist groups in Armenia are targeting Azerbaijanis on ethnic grounds by making violent calls. The issue of these petitions made by us is being considered.
