Necessary to achieve gradual integration of Armenian community into Azerbaijani society, Sergei Markov says

“It is necessary to achieve the gradual integration of the Armenian community into Azerbaijani society,” said Director of the Russian Institute for Political Studies Sergei Markov at the press conference held today, APA reports.

Sergei Markov noted that starting trade relations with Azerbaijani settlements in the neighborhood, the use of the Azerbaijani manat as a means of payment will be the first step towards integration: "If no steps are taken if Russian peacekeepers leave in 4 years, the Azerbaijani Army will enter those territories without encountering resistance. Azerbaijani structures will start operating in those territories. In this case, a part of the Armenian community there will leave the area through the Lachin corridor, a certain part, let's say, the elderly can stay. Therefore, it will be good to start the integration process.”
