The Armenian community of Bulgaria has made a sharp statement regarding the interviews given by the Former President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev to the Azerbaijani press within the framework of the 8th Global Baku Form about that Azerbaijan alone has executed the relevant resolutions of the trilateral statement, has achieved to liberate its territories after 30 years of occupation and restored historical justice, all cultural and religious monuments have been destroyed in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan during the occupation, currently reconstruction and restoration works are being conducted there, as well as new opportunities were opened for cooperation in the region, and has addressed to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and country community in order to publicly condemn and denounce Rosen Plevneliev, Azerbaijani Embassy in Bulgaria told APA.
“As a response to it, Azerbaijanis living in Bulgaria made a response statement and noticing that statement of local Armenian community, which is full of hatred and falsification, serves for triggering discord between nations and is far from elementary ethic principles, stressed facts that territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan remained under occupation for 30 years as a result of Armenian aggression, non-implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions #822, #853, #874, and #884 during the period, subjection of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis to ethnic cleansing by Armenia. It has been stressed that local Armenian community wants to present past conflict as a religious confrontation, but its basis has been made up by Armenia’s unfair territorial claims and intention of the annexation of Azerbaijan’s internationally-recognized territories. As Azerbaijan is a state, which attaches special importance to multicultural values and representatives of numerous Christian, as well as Bulgarian community live in the country territory in condition of peace, mutual respect, and welfare, wisdom, and farsightedness, as well as kind neighborhood thinking should dominate in Armenian community for obtaining approach and peace between Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples.
