Azerbaijan's Ombudsperson prepares report on facts of torture of Azerbaijani servicemen

Azerbaijani Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva continues to inform the world community about violations of international law and humanitarian law norms by the state of Armenia and its armed forces, Office of the Ombudsman told APA.

The ombudsman within the framework of her mandate has developed a report based on materials obtained as a result of relevant proves and evidence and their analyses.

The report reflects tortures, inhumane and humiliating acts committed by Armenian armed forces against captured Azerbaijani soldiers anf military servicemen with visual evidence.

Along with tortures, inhumane and humiliating acts against military servicemen, the report notes facts of humiliating, vandalism acts on the bodies of Azerbaijani servicemen, as well as the mass burial of bodies of Azerbaijani servicemen for the purpose of hiding torture facts, and other such facts.

The report has called on international organizations to take serious measures to bring Armenia to justice for war, for crimes against peace and humanity in gross violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The report has been sent to international organizations, ombudspersons of foreign countries, as well as other international organizations involved in the protection and promotion of human rights.

Due to the fact that the report contains confidential information (photos), as well as difficult scenes that can have a profound effect on human psychology, the report is not made public.
