Former defense minister: “Latvia believes that NATO-Azerbaijan relations are good for both sides”

“NATO sees Azerbaijan as a partner. We highly appreciate Azerbaijan's contribution to NATO's international peacekeeping operations,” said Latvian MP, former Minister of Defence member of the Latvian delegation to the NATO PA Raimonds Bergmanis in an international conference entitled “Azerbaijan's contribution to the Euro-Atlantic Peace and Security” organized by Latvian Embassy to Azerbaijan with ADA University as a coordinator Embassy of NATO in Azerbaijan for 2021-2022 today, APA reports.

He noted that Azerbaijan has supported peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan since 2002.

“We are grateful for this. NATO and Azerbaijan have good cooperation in the field of defense education. Azerbaijan has implemented NATO-recommended reforms in the field of defense education. NATO and Azerbaijan have signed an individual action plan in the field of political cooperation. Latvia which is a member of NATO believes that NATO-Azerbaijan relations are good for both sides,”
