"Our region, of which geostrategic importance is great, faces many challenges," said Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze at the joint statement to the press after a trilateral meeting of Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish Defence Ministers, APA's bureau in Georgia reports.
He noted that Georgia believes that peaceful resolution of the current conflicts does not have an alternative.
J. Burchuladze stressed that initiative sounded by Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili at the 76th session of UN General Assembly also aims at strengthening confidence between the neighbor countries, peace, and stability in the region: "Joint initiatives make a basis of an initiative of provision of peace among neighbors, as well as in our region. At the same time, I would like to note that joint activity, participation of our friends is very essential for the prevention of threats."
