The volume of the goods transported by sea transport in 2019 equaled to 5,968.7 thousand tons and decreased by 27.5% as compared with relevant period of the previous year, “APA-Economics” reports citing the State Statistics Committee.
The oil products accounted for 36.1% of all goods transported in the past period.
The sea ports implemented loading and unloading works in the volume of 8,247.6 thousand tons, and the transit cargo accounted for 7,547.2 thousand tons or 91.5% of all transported goods. As of January 1, 2020, the volume of the goods left in ports equaled to 233.3 thousand tons. During the mentioned period, the number of passengers transported by this type of transport increased by 41.4% as compared with 2018 and equaled to 22.2 thousand people.
