Volume of cargo transported via the Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor announced

The volume of cargo transported through Azerbaijani part of Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor on Jan-June of 2019 was 21 687,1 thousand tons, freight turnover amounted to 4 877,8 million tons-km, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistics Committee.

A decrease of 13.7% and 8.0% has been observed on these indicators relevantly in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

According to the information, 12590,7 thousand tons or 58,1% of the freight transported through car transportation, 6515,1 thousand tons or 30,0% railway, 2581,3 thousand tons or 11.9% transported through sea transportation.

20.0% or 4332,0 thousand tons of the cargo transported through the corridor was transit freights.
