"Azerbaijan is doing great work of development of International North-South transportation corridor," said Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev at a panel discussion on "Eurasian regional cooperation in the post-Covid period" held within the XXIV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

He noted that the opening of automobile roads and railway bridges on the border with Russia was held a while ago: "We are cooperating with Russia and Iran for development of the North-South corridor. Despite applied restrictions regarding pandemic, we have never suspended transit cargo transportation. Cargos have been transported from Iran to Russia and in the opposite direction through Azerbaijan. I should say that cargo transportation has increased in comparison with the previous year by 19% last year during the pandemic. It already means cooperation itself. I think that we can achieve better indicators thanks to such cooperation."
