On 16 August, during the visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva to Kalbajar and Lachin districts, after groundbreaking ceremony for a 11.6-kilometer tunnel to be built on the Toghanali-Kalbajar highway in Murovdagh, large-scale construction work started, APA reports.
125 meters of drilling was carried out in the upper half of the Murovdagh tunnel in the left direction, and 115 meters in the upper half of the right direction. At present, the tunnel is being drilled, blasted and destroyed to remove rocky parts of the tunnel.
