“Currently, 60 companies with Swiss investment in the fields of construction, trade, transport, service, agriculture are operating in Azerbaijan”, said Shahin Mustafayev, Minister of Economy, co-chairman of the joint Azerbaijani-Swiss intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in his meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan Muriel Peneveyre, APA-Economics reports.
Minister stated that Azerbaijan is a key partner of Switzerland in the South Caucasus region. Trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $1,3 billion in January-July of 2019. Nearly 25 documents have been signed between countries in promotion and mutual preservation of investments, trade and economical cooperation, double taxation and other fields.
Ambassador Muriel Peneveyre stated that Switzerland is interested in the expansion of ties with Azerbaijan, will do the best for the development of economic relations.
Views are exchanged about the creation of joint enterprises with the participation of Swiss companies in industrial parks of Azerbaijan, and the development of the cooperation in the fields of energy, industry, agriculture, education, health, tourism and other fields in the meeting.
