An extraordinary EU summit can take place immediately after the elections to the European Parliament, ONA reports citing Rosbalt.
Several European officials said the leaders of the countries are planning to meet in Brussels on May 28 (elections will be held from May 23 to 26).
The main topic of the meeting will be the discussion of the candidacy for the post of head of the European Commission after the departure of Jean-Claude Juncker. The European Parliament should nominate a successor at the July 2 meeting.
The official date of the summit is expected to be announced on May 9 by the head of the European Council Donald Tusk.
