Moscow hopes that Washington will officially admit that claims on the alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election are false, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday, ONA reports referring to Sputnik International.
The ministry also noted that the conclusions of Mueller's investigation on the absence of collusion between Trump and Russia "simply could not be different". The ministry further noted that Moscow considered accusations against 25 Russians in connection with the “interference” in the US elections to be “a disgrace of American justice”.
A summary of US Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, released on Sunday, said that no proof of US President Donald Trump coordinating with Russia ahead of the 2016 presidential election had been found. The report, however, does not deny Russia's alleged meddling.
