Pakistan successfully test-fires nuclear-capable ballistic missile

Pakistan has conducted a successful test launch of the Shaheen-II surface-to-surface nuclear-capable ballistic missile, ONA reports citing a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (İSPR).

According to the statement, Shaheen-II Missile is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads up to a range of 1,500 kilometers.

“Shaheen-II is a highly capable missile which fully meets Pakistan’s strategic needs towards the maintenance of desired deterrence stability in the region,” it said.

The statement further said the launch was aimed at ensuring operational readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command.
