TAP Consortium: Construction work started at the highest point of the route

Construction works within the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project are being carried out at the highest point of the route, in Marta bay (Albania), TAP Consortium told ONA.

According to the report, it is located at an altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level.

87.5% of works have been completed since the beginning of the construction of the TAP, which supplies Azerbaijani gas to Europe.

Note that the TAP pipeline, which is part of the Southern Gas Corridor project, is expected to transport 10 billion cubic meters of gas annually to Europe within the Shah Deniz-2 project. This pipeline will run through Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea to the south of Italy.

It is expected that Azerbaijani gas will be transported to Europe in 2020.
