The Russian section of the US Department of State’s Country Reports on Human Rights uses ‘pseudo-documentary’ information and Russophobic clich·s, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, commenting on the report, ONA reports citing TASS.

"In order to support negative sentiments toward our country, a set of accusations, which has already became a tradition, has been used, and it does not differ much from the previous report. By using pseudo-documentary information and worn-out anti-Russian cliches, the United States is trying to accuse us of neglecting human rights, of persecuting NGOs and human rights activists and of a lack of democracy," the ministry said.

Besides, the report attempts to hold Russia responsible for Ukraine’s poor human rights record.

"Once again, we urge the US side to start fixing its own problems in the human rights domain," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
