Azerbaijan to carry out analogue switch-off in districts in three stages

Baku. Farid Mirzayev – APA. The cessation of analogue broadcasting in Azerbaijan’s districts will be carried out in three stages, Togrul Mammadov, head of the Office of the National Television and Radio Council, told APA.

He noted that such a decision was made at the Council’s meeting on Friday in order to simplify the process of acquiring decoders and the necessary devices for digital broadcasting.

According to the decision, in the first stage analogue broadcasting will be ceased in Shamakhi, Gobustan, Siyazan, Shabran, Khizi, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz from 1 December 2016 on.

The second stage will begin in Aghsu, Ismayilli, Kurdamir, Zardab, Saatli, Sabirabad, Agjabedi, Aghdam, Ujar, Ganja, Samukh, Dashkasan, Gadabay, Goygol, Shamkir, Aghstafa, Gazakh, Tovuz, Terter, Naftalan, Barda, Goranboy, Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Agdash, Goychay, Gabala, Oghuz, Shaki, Zagatala, Balakan, Gakh on 10 December 2016.

In the third stage analogue switch-off will be carried out in Shirvan, Salyan, Neftchala, Hajigabul, Imishli, Beylagan, Fuzuli, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Lankaran, Masalli, Yardimli, Lerik, Astara from 20 December 2016 on.
