Igor Korotchenko: “Armenia’s purpose is to draw Azerbaijan into provocation and to involve Russia and CSTO into conflict”

“Armenia resorts to provocation by striking Azerbaijan’s cities. The purpose is to draw Baku into provocation by response blow and to involve Russia the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) into the conflict”, said editor-in-chief of Russia’s National Defense magazine, military expert Igor Korotchenko, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“Pashinyan’s tactics: to instigate Baku to make a response strike on targets in Armenia by inflicting strikes on the Azerbaijani cities and then to appeal to Russia and CSTO for assistance as a “victim of aggression”. If we take into consideration that the Armenian military units in Nagorno Garabagh don’t have highly precise weapons, the strikes on military facilities in a number of the Azerbaijani cities essentially mean a fire aimed at death of civilians and destruction of houses”, the Russian military expert stressed.
