Lavrov: “We wanted conflict to be resolved long time ago, on basis of principles developed by co-chairs”

“If diplomatic negotiations had been achieved on Garabagh before, 7 regions would have already been given to Azerbaijan, but peacefully,” said Russian FM Sergei Lavrov in his interview with media representatives, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

“We wanted all the conflict to be resolved a long time ago, on the basis of principles developed by co-chairs of OSCE Minsk Group. If it had gone that way, the result would probably have been practically the same as it is now. Earlier liberation of 5 regions and then two regions….However, the first it would have been without shedding blood, and the second it will happen together diplomatic solution way,” stressed the head of Russian MFA.
