March to pay tribute to memory of Patriotic War martyrs held in Baku, Azerbaijani President, First Lady joined the march

As a sign of respect to our soldiers and officers who martyred in the battles for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, killed civilians, and missing compatriots during the Patriotic War, a march has been organized in Baku, APA reports.

The march started from Neftchilar Avenue and continued to the Patriotic War Memorial Complex and the Victory Museum, founded today by President Ilham Aliyev.

The march has been attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, more than 3,000 cadets and servicemen of the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev and military units in the Baku Garrison.

Ibrahimli Adil Asam oglu, whose photo was held by President Ilham Aliyev during the march, was an officer of the military unit of the Ministry of Defense. Senior Lieutenant Ibrahimli Adil was martyred on November 7, 2020, during military operations in the territory of Khojavand district. He demonstrated private heroism in the implementation of special tasks in combat operations in the direction of Shusha. He has been awarded by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan title of “Hero of Patriotic War”, Medals “For the sake of Homeland”, “For the liberation of Kalbajar”, “For the liberation of Shusha”, “For the liberation of Khojavend” after his death.

Narin Khaligova whose photo was held by Azerbaijan’s First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva during the march was born on December 17, 2019, in Ganja. The only child of the family Narin was born at the end of 5 years of longing. Narin Khaligova was killed together with her mother Sevil Asgerova, as well as close relatives Suliddin Asgerov, Bakhtiyar Asgerov, Nigar Asgerova as a result of rocket shelling of Ganja by Armenian armed forces on October 17, 2020.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, Narin Khaligova was given the status of martyr.
