One of the biggest problems in Baku is demographic growth, which has prompted the redesigning of the Master Plan, said Aytaj Akbarli, Sector Director of the Baku City Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning under the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, APA reports.
She noted that population growth, along with urban development, leads to increased demand for vehicles and the exploitation of green areas: “One of the key issues in the Master Plan of Baku city is to achieve greenery norms. According to this plan, green areas in Baku are considered to be 10%.”
