The General Prosecutor of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev has met with the Extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the United State of America to Azerbaijan Earl Litzenberger, the Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office told APA.
The General prosecutor sincerely welcoming the guests and touching upon the traditional friendship and partnership relations and the existence of the business contacts in all areas between Azerbaijan and the USA talked about cooperation between law enforcement agencies of two states.
Kamran Aliyev starting a subject of the large-scale reforms implemented in the prosecutor’s office according to tasks and recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev, and noting the efforts made by our state in the fight against international security and terrorism, as well as the institutional and criminal prosecution measures implemented in our country in the area of fight against corruption, stressed the significance of efficient cooperation of the General Prosecutor’s Office with international institutions including relevant institutions of other countries in the area of fight against human and drug trafficking, as well as other grave forms of organized crimes.
Ambassador Earl Litzenberger expressing his gratitude for sincere reception, touching upon bilateral relations, stressed that the US attaches great significance to relations with Azerbaijan and the relations between the two countries are developing at high level and successfully, and while conducting exchange of views about the existing conflict between our country and Armenia, recognizing the territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic, confirmed that Nagorno Garabagh is integral part of our country’s territory and said the US has always supported the Azerbaijani state.
The ambassador noted that the US is ready to provide every support for improvement of professional skills of employees of the prosecutor’s office.
The issues of mutual interest were discussed and the useful exchange of ideas was conducted at the meeting.
