Azerbaijan’s MES: Fire at EuroHome Building materials market to be investigated in General Prosecutor’s Office

“The fire incident taken place on May 11 at EuroHome Building materials market is being investigated in the Department for Investigation of Grave Crime Cases under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Azerbaijan Republic”, the head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) Gulchin Mehdiyeva told APA.

Thus, the information was received by the "112" hotline telephone service of the MES regarding the occurrence of fire at the EuroHome Building materials market situated in Binagadi district of Baku City. Some 6 minutes after receipt of the phone call – at 22:57, the relevant forces of the State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry arrived in the scene of the incident. The fire was localized at 00:30 and was fully extinguished at 01:30. A part with an area of about 3,300 square meters of the market with a total area of approximately 22,500 square meters has burnt down, the remaining part of the market was protected from the fire and the localization and the extinguishing of the fire in the short time was ensured.
