Azerbaijan's National Hematology and Transfusion Medicine Center appeals to citizens

The National Hematology and Transfusion Medicine Center has appealed to citizens, the Center told APA.

The appeal says this year, the 10th day of the Muharram month – the Ashura day falls on August 30, 2020. This year, the Ashura day is marked during the period of the coronavirus pandemic going on in the world: “In previous years, on the Ashura days, our citizens went to mosques and took part in blood donation campaigns. Beginning from the first days of commencement of implementation of the decision about application of the quarantine regime in our country, the religious center – the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) taking into consideration the necessary recommendations given after the detailed consultations held with the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, adopted decision on temporary suspension of divine services at all mosques and sanctuaries on the country’s territory in order to prevent cases of infection with coronavirus. It is said in the decision of the Kadis’ Council and the authorized representatives of the Caucasian Muslims Office regarding the Ashura day that our citizens will once again continue to humanistic tradition this year and will donate blood on the Ashura day with the good deed intention not in mosques but in branches of the Central Blood Bank situated in the capital city and in regions due to the pandemic.

As Central Blood Bank we want to bring to the attention of our citizens that regular preventive and other necessary security measures are taken in our institution."

It has been noted the address that citizens, who will arrive at the Central Blood Bank and its branches, are asked to follow social distance rules, use a medical mask in order to protect their individual health by taking into consideration current epidemiological condition.
