The draft law" On Higher Education "contains provisions related to the procedure for admission to universities in Azerbaijan, said Bakhtiyar Aliyev, chairman of the Milli Mejlis Committee on Science and Education, APA reports.
The chairman of the committee noted that today the rules of admission to universities in Azerbaijan correspond to European and world rules in general.
“The bill provides for a number of new procedures, they are related to the issue of choice. Today, in our country, the assessment of applicants after graduation is carried out by the State Examination Center (SEC), after which exams to universities are taken. A new procedure will be provided here. In the future, it is planned to combine them, to create a unified assessment system. On the other hand, the ranking of universities will be determined. Applicants will be able to make choices according to these ratings. The bill provides for the creation of a primary legal framework for a unified assessment system," he said.
