“Organ shortage remains a worldwide problem,” said Head of World Health Organization( WHO) Azerbaijan Office Hande Harmanci at the scientific conference “ on the problem of organ donation and transplantation", APA reports.
She noted that there are problems with organ transplantation from corpses in some countries, as well as Azerbaijan: “There are beliefs and religious issues among the reasons. Surely, we can not relate this to only religion. These problems should be investigated. Another issue is related to people's trust in health services”.
According to her, the relevant organizations should be jointly work in order to change people’s thoughts and to persuade them.
